Chennai's GoSense.ai Puts AI Security Inside Banking Apps
Chennai start-up GoSense.ai has launched an AI-native runtime app security platform for mobile banking, UPI, lending, wallet and card apps.

Chennai-based fintech security start-up GoSense.ai has launched a platform that protects banking and fintech apps from inside the app while it runs, instead of at the network edge.
What it does
The core is what the company calls AI-native Runtime Application Self-Protection (RASP). RASP sits inside the application and watches for threats at runtime. The Hindu BusinessLine reports that it covers:
- app tampering
- rooted or jailbroken devices
- emulators and debugging
- malicious overlays
- accessibility abuse and other kinds of app manipulation
It works on mobile and web apps and can be deployed across mobile banking, UPI and payment apps, digital lending, wallets, cards, insurance and wealth platforms.
Co-founder and CEO Muthukumar said the security perimeter for banks and fintechs has moved to the application, the device and the transaction. The aim, he said, is to understand risk while the app is running and intervene before it becomes a financial loss.
Why it fits the moment
A good share of retail banking fraud now starts on the customer's phone rather than in the bank's data centre: a screen-sharing app, a fake overlay on a payment screen, an accessibility permission handed to the wrong app. Network controls don't see those. Something running inside the app can.
It also lands in a week when AI-assisted attacks on South Korea's largest banks are under investigation. If attackers are using AI to move faster, putting AI into the controls nearest the transaction is a reasonable response.
What I'd ask before buying
The announcement is short on detail. A bank evaluating it should ask:
- How does it treat legitimate customers on older or modified phones? False positives here mean blocked payments.
- How much does it add to app size and start-up time?
- How do its signals feed into the fraud and risk engines the bank already runs?
App runtime security in India has mostly been supplied by global vendors, so a Chennai start-up competing there is worth tracking.
